Rich had wonderful support from St Catherine's throughout his illness, allowing him to be at home in comfort and continue to be his usual organised, pragmatic and humourous self. Despite the situation, the smiles and jokes stayed with him.

Aside from the medical support, they helped us through the more difficult times and gave us courage, confidence and comfort. They ensured Rich was able to pass away peacefully, painlessly and without fear, which is the way he wanted. They also took very good care of those of us who were with him at that moment and we are grateful to them. 

So Rich has requested not to have flowers at his funeral but, if you wish, to celebrate his life and support St Catherine's in continuing their amazing work by making a donation in his memory.

And when reading this, think of him as so many of you knew him- with a smile (and probably a beer!).
