Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.

Story

OK so being ridiculously unfit, having horrible achey old lady joints and a severe case of utter laziness, it is with some trepidation that I signed up to run 5k in May with four of my fellow nurses. I'm probably going to walk it, and its probably going to hurt. I will even have to give up alcohol for that weekend, thats how serious things are.

Anyway, my Millwall mates will all hopefully recognise my chosen charity Everyman. It might seem a bit of a strange choice to everyone else, me not being a man and all, however my grandad passed away of prostate and bowel cancer in 2008 so there is method in my madness.

Anything you can spare is welcomed gratefully. If everyone on my Facebook gave me £1, I'd be well over my target. If I dont reach £100, they arent going to let me run and that will just be embarrassing. If you're a bit tight like myself, sponsor me £2 per kilometer, I'll probably drop out halfway round and save you some money. If however you are feeling a bit flush, then you can sponsor me loads and loads and I'll even let you choose an utterly ridiculous costume for me to wear that people can point and laugh at.

So thanks for looking, if you're interested in finding out a bit more about the charity I'm running for, their website is here http://everyman-campaign.org/
