Jayden was born a seemingly healthy little boy on 27 April 2013 weighing a healthy 8lb 10oz in Liverpool to single mum Eleanor Donnelly and the much loved sibling to Rebecca Kay and Kayla Donnelly.

Jayden put on weight at a steady rate until he was about three and a half months old. When Jayden attended the health visitor for his second set of needles at four months it was noted there had been a drop in his weight centiles.

On the 23rd September after increasing reflux and weight loss his mother, Elle, took him to Alder Hey Childrens Hospital.  Blood tests were performed and it was of note that his sodium level was very low and potassium level was very high.

Jayden was admitted to the High Dependency unit at Alder Hey were further tests were carried out.

On 26 September 2013 an ultrasound and MRI scan were performed and showed a large irregular mass at the base of the bladder.

On the 30th September 2013 Jaydens family were told that, at just five months old, he had advanced botyroid rhabdomyosarcoma of the bladder/prostate.

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer, affecting less than 60 children in the UK every year. This type of cancer is highly resistant to chemotherapy, the survival rate is just two-thirds, a shocking statistic considering how few children are affected each year. There is also a high chance that children with botyroid strain will suffer infertility in later life and in Jaydens case loss of the bladder.

The best treatment for Jay is over in France and we are trying to raise the monies required to send him there.
