Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My background : I was originally called Jasper and came to the Border Collie Trust GB in August 2015 from Ireland where I had been found wandering all alone and was taken to a local Pound. I was in a lot of pain because I had swallowed a piece of chain and had to have an operation to remove it.

The Trust did home me but I bounced back to the Trust in December 2016. I was really scared in those days and chose to act aloof and didn't want to interact with anyone.  I felt safer that way.

But then on 7th August 2020 I started a new Adventure! My Mum (who is called Liz) heard about me and contacted The Border Collie Trust GB and she spent a week at the Trust's Centre getting to know me. We kind of took a liking to each other immediately and under the careful and loving eye of the Centre we got to know each other well enough for us all to decide that yes, me Jazz could start a new and exciting Life in Scotland! My  wonderful new Life working with volunteer Liz on Traprain and getting to know the wonderful Pony Kings who live on Traprain gives me so much joy and happiness each day!

I'm having a great time on Traprain Law working with my Mum to help keep pony sleeping areas nice and clean for the ponies. I sniff out the manure and then make my ball squeek to alert her "I've found some!" I also help Mum when she is clearing ragwort - a highly poisonous plant to the ponies. My 4 paws cover a lot of ground at Traprain every day and I am my Mum's Best Companion ever she reckons ha! Here I am in the photos with Pony Spike in a Gorse Den, a particularly important area to keep clean for the ponies. The other photo shows me checking the wheelbarrow that has manure in the black bags. Then - you've guessed it - yes thats me at the end of a "hard day's work" snoozing and dreaming of my day's activities on Traprain. The manure is given away free to people wanting it for their garden (or who may want to donate to the ponies Charity for it) but I asked Mum to create this wonderful Just Giving page so my walkies activities each day on Traprain can raise some very needed cash for my beloved Home that rescued me. Border Collie Trust GB had the Wisdom to give me Trust that I would make a great success of my new life.

Like so many charities, my rescue home of The Border Collie Trust GB has been very hard hit throughout this pandemic and while their doors have had to be primarily closed to the public and rehoming service (they have just finally reopened this week April 2021) they have still had to find cash to pay for my fellow 4 pawed friends who reside in the safety of the Trust and maintain the Trust's facilities.

I hope my daily walkies on Traprain will generate some much needed cash for BCT GB so other doggies residing there can experience the joy, commitment and devotion I was given - and which has now given me a wonderful new Life on one of Scotland's most scenic hills - Traprain Law and Home to the wonderful MMT Traprain Pony Kings!

Any donation, no matter how small, will be sure to be met with a big waggle tail from me as my 4 paws walk the Traprain hill each day helping Mum to keep Trapain a safe and beautiful haven for the Pony Kings - thank you - your friend Jazz
