We are all extremely proud to have known Jean de Watteville, be it on a professional or a social basis.
As a Chemicals analyst Jean was held in high regard by institutional investors, by his colleagues at Nomura and by senior executives in the global chemicals industry. He was respected as a high quality financial analyst, whose work was characterised by the highest intellectual rigour. As a person he was well-loved by those who knew him, and known as a man of immense integrity.
Tragically, after a short illness, Jean died of cancer in November 2013 leaving his widow and two young daughters.
A group of Jean’s colleagues (equity research analysts, equity salespeople and corporate financiers) have decided to run the Paris marathon in his memory, as a way of both communicating to his family the high esteem in which Jean was held by his work colleagues and also to raise some money to further support research into cancers. In consultation with Jean’s widow, Helene, the nominated charity is the Institute of Cancer Research, which is linked to the Royal Marsden Hospital, at which Jean received much of his treatment. More details on their links with the Marsden are here: http://www.cancerbrc.org/ . Together the two organisations are rated in the top four cancer centres globally.
We would be delighted if you would like to support this venture.
With many thanks and best wishes from us all.
