GILLIAN ANNETTE KIDSON AGED 57 YEARS

Our loved sister Gillian passed away on the 26 October 2020 aged 57 following a fall that resulted in extensive brain damage from which, she never recovered.

Gillian was born in Hereford, England on the 19 September 1963, the youngest of six girls to George and Celia Kidson. She was a mother to her two children Nash and Rhiarna and a beloved sister to Jeannette, Teresa, Suzanne, Yvonne and Sonia and a friend to many.

Gillian spent the first 12 years of her life growing up in England and migrated with her family to Australia in 1976. She finished her schooling in Australia and later following the death of her fiance, Gary, she studied to become a nurse.

In her many years of nursing she had a particular interest in aged care and loved her "oldies". She was a kind, caring and compassionate person and always endeavoured to do her best for all those that came under her care.

In 1999, with her love and passion for the Ocean, she moved to the Sunshine Coast with her family and ensured that she was always lived near the water. If Gillian was not working she  could always  be found on the beach near the water.

During this period Gillian took her children on holidays to the reef and islands of Queensland exploring the reefs and where her  love for diving in and around the islands of the Great Barrier Reef developed.

In the last few years Gillian's love for diving had increased and she would often take diving trips to many spots in South East Queensland in particular HMAS Brisbane and also HMAS Tobruk.

Gillian will be greatly missed by her children, sisters, relatives and friends. There is a space in our lives that is now empty.
