Story

Hi,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for visiting my page and supporting. I really appreciate this!

This summer I will be doing what I love to do - putting smiles on children's faces! I will be travelling to Alexandra, South Africa to make this happen by teaching English to secondary school children. This is simply to enhance the quality of education the children receive.

Not only do I aim to improve their academic results, but also to leave an imprint and impact on the mental and physical well-being of the children from distraught backgrounds. I want to let them know that the community in which they originate from shouldn't limit them. I am ecstatic by the idea that I can preach about improvement and empowerment through education!

This is all made possible by Warwick In Africa, a program based at University of Warwick that gives students the opportunity to volunteer to teach in Africa. Last summer nearly 13,000 learners where taught by Warwick In Africa volunteers like me. Overall, nearly 750,000 people have benefitted since this program was founded in 2006.

I will be volunteering in places where there are rarely enough teachers and average class sizes of 50 learners. Many schools lack even the most basic of facilities such as water, sanitation or electricity.

Just £10 is enough to teach one child for over a month, £150 is enough to pay for resources for a school that can make a real difference. Any donation will make a real impact on the lives of the children that need it the most, so please give whatever you can.
