Glasgow's Hospice Zipline 2009 · 3 October 2009 ·

The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, situated in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow, exists to help our patients achieve the best quality of life possible in whatever time remains for them. Where it may not be possible to add days to lives, we aim to add life to days for patients and their families.

Story

Hi folks,

On Saturday, 3rd October I will be climbing a 160 ft mobile crane (with my eyes closed) then launching myself from the top (screaming most likely) to zipline across the Clyde, landing gracefully (and hopefully not) on my backside!

I'm doing this in aid of The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. The PPWH provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses, usually cancer and offer practical and emotional support for their families and carers. Their aim is to help their patients achieve the best possible quality of life in the time remaining to then and to face the inevitable in comfort and dignity.

The actual cost of Hospice care is some £3.8 million each year, and despite support from NHS Greater Glasgow, the Hospice need to raise around £6,000 every working day just to keep the doors open!...

...So please dig deep and sponsor me. Your sponsorship will help the Hospice continue their great work.

Thanks,

Jen xx
