On Sept 12th I celebrate 40 years on this lovely planet. For 40 years I have been terrified of heights, despite being able to rationalise my fear and apply logic to it. I still get sweaty palms and feet just thinking about heights.

I noticed the leaflet advertising this event,  taking place the day after my 40th birthday and thought it was the perfect opportunity to face my demons, scaling a church !!

I've worked in the shadow of St Mary's Church for the last 6 years. I have a soft spot for it and love it's architecture and peaceful interior. It's a real landmark of what I now consider to be home. Helping to raise funds to help preserve it whilst overcoming my fears seems like a perfect combination.
