<p>Jo and I ran the Wolverhampton Half last year and were astounded by the generosity of friends and family to help us raise £1200 for Cancer Research UK.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>As most of you will be aware, I have decided that that wasn't enough torture and have been training for the Blackpool Marathon which is taking place on 11th March 2012.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Again I am running in aid of Cancer Research UK, a charity that is close to my heart.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>My auntie, Glen Mills is currently battling cancer and so I wanted to do something to raise as much money as possible to help fund research into this terrible illness.</p>
<p> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">All of the money that we are able to raise will generously be matched by Towergate Insurance, the insurance broker that I work for so please dig deep and give us as much as you can.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt; mso-margin-top-alt: auto; mso-margin-bottom-alt: auto;"><span style="font-family: Arial; color: black; font-size: 11.5pt;">Towergate has made a special agreement with Cancer Research UK, that monies raised by employees will help fund a research project run by Professor Harris in Oxford that is looking into treatments that can prevent tumours from forming their own blood supply – one of the best chances we have of stopping the growth and spread of many types of cancer <a title="blocked::http://www.towergate.org.uk/" href="http://www.towergate.org.uk/"><span style="color: black; text-decoration: none; text-underline: none;">www.towergate.org.uk</span></a>.</span></p>

<p>So basically a donation of £10 means that £20 actually goes to the charity - Amazing!</p>
