Greater Manchester Marathon 2012 · 29 April 2012 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

On the 29th April 2012 myself and Matthew Needham will be 'running' the Greater Manchester Marathon in aid of Headway - the brain injury association.

The Burnley and Pendle strand of this charity are a small support group made up of brain injury sufferers, their families and carers.

After the loss of my cousin following an accident which resulted in severe brain damage, we would like all money raised to go towards this little known group who, had he survived, would likely have been a vital means of support for both him and his family.

We've been training hard for our 26.2 miles and are by no means looking forward to it but please give what you can!
We'll be so proud to finish but our achievement will be little in comparison to the marathon many people face every single day.

Thank you and wish us luck - WE NEED IT!!
