Participants: A 'BIG' Birthday
on 1 March 2019
This all started with my BIG birthday nearly three years ago ! I decided to accompany my cousin Emma Briggs and participate with the team at St Catherines Hospice in the challenge to trek along the stunning Canadian Rockies. A bucket list challenge for me.. This is now scheduled for July 2022.
(With Covid, this has been re-scheduled three times)
I have now raised the Minimum £2500.00 that was required of me to endure this - obviously the more sponsorship the better.. so therefore I am asking friends, family and anyone else to please help donate / sponsor me to help St Catherine's Hospice . I'm hoping to complete a few hair raising challenges in order to raise much needed money. Please help where you can...
Sadly, my own dad - (my beloved Bid) recently made use of the excellent facilities that were offered by this wonderful Hospice. Heartbreakingly he died after a short illness.. But the amount of help and care we all received was amazing. We can never thank them enough. One never knows when you will need to use these facilities.
I sadly know of too many that have spent their last few days, weeks and months in the caring arms of this Hospice, including my own cousin Pauline Briggs - Emma's Mum.
I have initially 'done' the Worlds Fasted Zip Line - with speeds over 100mph over Penryhn Quarry, Snowdonia on my BIG birthday March 2019. This was an amazing experience and I thoroughly enjoyed. What a way to spend your 50th ☺
Then next challenge was another bucket list challenge of which involved a Wing Walk in October 2021. This entailed standing on the wing of an authentic Boeing Stearman Biplane travelling at speeds up to 135mph ..!! (I was strapped on of course !) This had been cancelled four times, so was a massive relief and BUZZ to actually do this. It was AMAZING ! !! The pilot actually said he'd never seen anyone to laugh so much throughout the experience as much as I did. My dad really wanted to see me do this, so I believe that he could see me from up above on that day..
For a birthday present I was very kindly given a Microlight Experience, (Yes..another bucket list challenge !! ), this too shall be booked in ASAP, again hoping to raise even more funds to St Catherines' Hospice.
I have previously contributed to raise a significant amount of money for the Hospice with volunteering at many Vintage Working Days, Staxtonbury and the Pistonslap events.
Thank you for reading my plea / pledge, and if you would kindly help me with this worthy cause, I'd be so very grateful. I would like to thank everybody that has very kindly and generously donated.
