Since 1956, experienced HCPT volunteers have taken 1,000s of children and adults, with a variety of needs, on life changing pilgrimage holidays to the shrine of Lourdes in France. We are of all faiths and none. Thank you for your support.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July last year I, and a number of other Marist girls, mums and sisters, took part in the 5K Race for Life event at Windsor Race Course. Mortifyingly I was beaten over the 5K distance by my then 7 and a half year old daughter! Determined not to have that happen again this year , after 8 years of less physical activity that a PE Teacher should admit to, I began running .

My training started with 1K jogs and then moved up to 5Ks and I am now running 10Ks on a relatively frequent basis.  Rest assured Paula Radcliffe has nothing to worry about in terms of me nabbing her Team GB place, but in order to keep me training I signed up for the Bracknell Half Marathon which will take place on May 8th.

In September last year we established a running club at school which takes place three times a week and the girls who regularly run kept me training through the wet and cold winter months. They have been a tremendous motivating force throughout the last 10 months hence my decision to help raise funds for charities linked to the The Marist Senior School.

Inspired by ex Head Girl Stacey Begg I decided to try and help raise money for HCPT . They really need your help and just £2 from each person who reads this will make a huge huge difference to this small charity which aims to assist around 2000 children with disabilities, mainly from the British Isles, in making a pilgrimage to Lourdes at Easter. Marist Sixth Form students have been making the pilgrimage with them for a number of years, and by donating the equivalent amount of money of a drink at Starbucks you can make all the difference to a wonderful charity. I do hope you can support me and them . Thanks as always . JB
