COVID has been devastating to the operation of the shelter and we've had to take the unprecedented emergency action of moving ALL our residents to a local hotel increasing our monthly costs by $75,000.

Story

Stepping Stone Emergency Housing is a homeless shelter located in Anoka, MN and is the only shelter of its kind in the five suburban counties of the Twin Cities metro area. Their mission is to provide emergency shelter and critical support services to individuals 18 years and old while striving toward self-sufficiency. The shelter has experienced a COVID crisis over the past two weeks and 30% of the residents, as well as two staff members have tested positive for Covid. This despite the fact that the shelter offers 1st, 2nd and booster vaccinations to all staff and residents. To help protect the safety of everyone at the shelter, they have taken extreme, unprecedented and expensive action to curb the spread. They have moved all the male residents to a local hotel in an effort to increase social distancing. Current funding will only support these efforts so long and your help is needed to offset the added cost of these extreme but necessary actions. Please donate today.
