SuperHero Tri 2019 · 17 August 2019 ·

Our vision is to make cutting-edge rehabilitation more accessible and inclusive for those living with various forms of paralysis. This includes a focus on recovery below the level of injury, which we guarantee by staying up to date with the latest breakthroughs in neuroscience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the sprint distance of the Superhero triathlon on the 17th August. This includes 150m swim, 3km wheel/bike and a 1km push/run, this is my first triathlon and I am excited to see how I can do.

I am raising money for Neurokinex because they have been providing me with activity based physio for my spinal cord injury for the past two years. As this physio is not covered by the NHS  any money that I raise over £250 will be used to fund more sessions. I stopped receiving regular NHS funded physiotherapy sessions when I turned 18, which was less than 2 years after I was paralysed, and I went without any physio for 5 years until I found Neurokinex. Since I have been going to Neurokinex I have improved y core strength and seen improved muscle activity which is why I want to fund raise for them.
