Hey folks!
I'm doing 2 weeks screen free to raise funds for Mast Cell Action's 'Take care of yourself' campaign. This initiative is creating self help booklets for both adults and children dealing with Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). They're being written with the help of counselors to provide support and advice on dealing with this particular chronic illness. I think these booklets are a wonderful way to assist those going through a difficult and isolating experience.
What do I mean by 2 weeks screen free? Well, from January the 1st until January 15th 2020 I will cease using my mobile phone and my laptop (which are my only tech gadgets, I don't have a secret iPad or television!), or access the internet or a screen in any other way. I have definitely noticed I find it hard to pry myself away from those devices, and there is increasing evidence to suggest that too much screen time is damaging for the brain and for mental health. So, in the spirit of self care, I will shun my mobile and laptop for a fortnight (I'm actually terrified, this is going to be really difficult!). Lovely people, please give what you can to help with this fantastic cause. I'm delighted to be fundraising for a charity that has done so much to help me on my journey with MCAS.
