Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My beloved husband Mike passed away in 2017, having lived with Alzheimer’s for over 10 years.  We knew very little about this terminal disease at the time so it was ‘on the job training’ and learning as we went along.

It wasn’t easy getting information or help, either practical or financial.  Since Mike passed, I joined the Eastbourne Dementia Action Alliance (EDAA) to help those following in my footsteps by sign-posting where to go for help and advice

A week after my 75th birthday it is my wedding anniversary so, in honour of Mike and all the others living with dementia, I will be doing a WingWalk on October 20th, at Headcorn, Kent in order to raise funds for the charity of which I am now a Trustee and Volunteer Co-Ordinator.

Funds raised  will enable the EDAA to continue doing its valuable work in raising awareness and helping the local community to become Dementia Friendly and inclusive.

Thank you in advance for your kind donation.  Please add your name and a brief note, just a ‘Hi’ will do, so that we can identify you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
