Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for the British Sjogrens Syndrome Association (www.bssa.org.uk). This charity means a lot to me. Sjogrens Syndrome is the second most common auto-immune illness and yet, I bet not one of you has heard it. My sister Susie was finally diagnosed with this about 3 years ago - 4 years after the symptoms first presented. Diagnosed, great - but no cure and in fact, no meds that help at all. Many GP's don't get/understand/know about Sjogren's.  It is not an illness that is known about through the media, but I see it through my sister - Susie ran 2 marathons in 2006 (London and New York), now she couldn't run 1/10 of a marathon. This horrible illness has robbed my sister of so much and I want to do all I can to raise awareness - and cash -  for this charity.

My challenges for 2016;

April 3 - Reading Half Marathon
April 17 - Brighton Marathon (not London no, but still 26.2 miles!)
April 30 - Tough Mudder
June 12 - Leeds Olympic Triathlon (done half the distance before never this)

Please support me in these new challenges and help raise money so that in the future, people like my sister, can live a much fuller life than Suey can.

About the charity

Sjögren’s Syndrome is debilitating, distressing, under recognised and under treated. Glands that produce tears and salvia or secretions of the vagina, skin and bowel stop working, it causes muscle or joint pain, low mood and extreme fatigue. The BSSA supports sufferers and raises awareness.
