Guess who’s back,
Back again,
Jenny’s back, tell a friend!
Yep, you read it right. Oops, I did it again! I signed up for Worcester City Half Marathon but this time I’ve got Timmy with me! Mwah ha ha ha!
Those of you who read my boring updates last year may remember how much I struggled and the pain I had in my knees and my calf and you may be wondering why on EARTH I’m doing it to myself again. Well, there are a few answers to that - to improve my time, to try and raise more than I did last year for the charity but mostly for my best friends. I support them every step of the way even though I might not know exactly how they are feeling. This is something else I can to for those amazing, inspiring and rock solid ladies. And they are what help me to push on through a run when I am struggling. I cannot believe what they deal with, and they still smile. The very least I can do is run a few piddly miles!
What helped me run last year and will help me again this year is to think of all the good raising money for the charity will do. All the lives that this charity touches. That pushes me on, as well as some of my closest friends, Helen, Kate and Susie, who are inspiring, amazing and beautiful and I love 'em a lot!
In fact as I re-type this (the first one didn’t save - grrr!) Helen, who is currently receiving treatment, and not for the first time, has been the first one to donate. Just an indication as to how selfless these girls really are.
So the money I raise goes towards Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven. They need 200k every year to keep the Haven running and so any money I raise will help with this. You can read more about what the Haven does at www.worcsbreastunithaven.com
Kate and Susie also run a non-profit charity to raise money for the Haven and you can read about them, the work they do and any upcoming events they have here - www.breastunitevents.co.uk/home
In addition to this Kate not only has a blog http://secretlifeofa40yearold.blogspot.com/ BUT she has a weekly column every Tuesday in the Worcester News. Which might give you and idea about how the money you donate can help. Can you tell how proud I am of my girls?!?
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and read my waffle!
