Story
Good Day
After swearing (in both senses of the word) that last year
was definitely the last occasion that I would undertake the Great North Run I
have been persuaded by colleagues to do it again this year.
The charity that I am supporting is High Tide for which I am
also a Trustee.
High Tide is a charity that was set up some 5 years ago to
provide opportunities for young people living in the Tees Valley to learn about
the career opportunities that are available to them, working within and around
the infrastructure built on either side of the River Tees. The charity is
entirely focussed on our region and has, to date, run a huge number of
programmes including work experience; development of apprenticeships; character
building on board sail training vessels; accompanied trips to the near
continent and the Baltic states - all of which have profoundly benefitted some
6,000 young people in our region.
I have attached the link to the High Tide website below and
would urge you to have a look at the work that we are undertaking, I am sure
that you will be impressed with both the scope and reach of what we have
managed to deliver thus far. https://www.hightidefoundation.co.uk/
High Tide is entirely dependent on charitable contribution
to fund its work as we aim to make the programmes free to the young people at
the point of delivery. In order that we continue the work we need to
raise money on an ongoing basis and, accordingly, look to initiatives such as
the Great North Run to that end.
Accordingly, would you please consider sponsoring me in
support of High Tide? I appreciate that your business, receives a lot of
requests for charitable support. However, High Tide is an exceptional
cause and I would be extremely grateful if you would give it your
support.
I do hope that you will feel able to sponsor me. It’s a great cause and a sound investment in the future of our region.
Best regards
Jerry
