Story
I really don't get on with running... never really appealed to me/never been any good at it. So, what better challenge: A MARATHON!
I'm doing this because my wonderful Dad went out for a dog walk three years ago and didn't come back. He died on that walk, at age 59 from a sudden cardiac arrest...and really, that's all we know. We don't know why it happened or even if/how it could have been prevented. Since working at BHF I've realised how far we've come with research into heart disease, but also how much further we have to go.
My story is just one of thousands - coronary heart disease is the single biggest killer in the UK. THE BIGGEST KILLER. And BHF need money to exist and fund research to try and prevent sudden deaths, treat heart conditions and ultimately understand why and how heart disease can be better prevented, diagnosed and treated.
I have an overwhelming target to reach so anything you can afford would be so, so gratefully received and spur me on to complete this massive challenge (did I mention I really don't like running?).
Thank you for reading and do feel free to join me at the finish line for a pint/lie down.
