Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been going through all the pages on Just giving, reading everyone's stories, some of which have even brought me to tears. I've come to realise just how fortunate I am to have such a wonderful life filled with such supportive  and loving family and wonderful friends. I'm also so blessed to have always been in really good health. So what could I possibly say that would make you want to sponsor my cause above someone who has to really challenge themselves against all odds, having to overcome every obstacle in their lives? The Answer: Being a voice for animals who find themselves in difficult situations.

I've always believed that as humans we are so privileged to be able to voice our concerns, speak about our issues, ask for help. Whenever good things come our way we are the first to pick up the phone and call our friends and family with the good news. When things don't always go our way we are able to take comfort in our friends and family and know that we can talk through our problems. Animals on the other hand are not so privileged.  Many animals land up in abusive homes or lost on the streets because of a negligent owner. They cannot ask for help from friends or neighbours, they cannot ask for a blanket to keep them warm at night , they ask for a meal to fill their tummies and water to quench their thirst. Just like humans, no animal should ever suffer a life of abuse and neglect. This is why homes such as the Edinburgh Dog and Cat home are so important to both us as animal lovers and the animals themselves. It acts as a safe haven for animals to be able to experience warmth and love, kindness and compassion and through this kindness and help, animals can be nurtured back to physical and mental health to be able to experience the happiness of being part of a loving family.

This is the reason why I have decided to run the Edinburgh Marathon 2017.

My dog and cat are my world. I don't know what I would do without those wet nosed kisses in the mornings or the purring and kneading before bed. I cannot and do not want to imagine my animals ever being subjected to any form of abuse or negligence. I am so lucky to have them in my life. I want to help the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home raise funds so that they can continue the amazing work that they do on a daily basis so that other families get to experience the love and the joy that I receive every single day.

I will be running my first overseas Marathon in  May 2017 on behalf of a very special cause and would love you to be apart of my journey in raising much needed funds for animals who cannot speak for themselves. Let's help our neglected furry friends to experience warmth and happiness and to live out their lives as it should be, with the love and comfort of family.
