Bookmark Reading is a literacy charity with a mission to create flexible volunteering at the heart of our communities, to help children to develop the reading skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. It is a shocking statistic that even today, over 200,000 children in England leave primary school every year unable to read to the expected standard. These children often struggle for the rest of their lives. Poor literacy can lead to limited job prospects, poor health, low self-esteem, and reduced life expectancy. With your support, we can help as many children as possible to build the futures they deserve. On Saturday 18th May, Bookmark and its supporters will tackle 5 of England's toughest peaks, including its highest - Scafell Pike.
