Grand Union Challenge 2015 · 27 June 2015 to 28 June 2015 ·
Hi friends, thanks for visiting my page!
Inspired by the great work that Plan International does for children around the world, this June I'm doing an epic endurance walk - 100km in 24 hours - (that's 62 miles!!) to raise money for their vital work.
Along with my fellow Team SHAKA SHAKA Boom Boom mates I'll be setting out from London Saturday morning June 27 and walking through the night and all day Sunday to Bletchley, the place made famous by Benedict Cumberbatch (or more correctly by Alan Turing) in The Imitation Game.
In 24 hours we'll walk nonstop, roughly the equivalent distance of walking from Kanawha to Ames, or from Navy Pier to the Wisconsin border!
You can see more about about the challenge here: http://www.grandunionchallenge.com/the-challenge/walk-it
Plan is a global children's charity working with children in the poorest countries to help them build a better future. Amongst other things, a couple of the amazing things they're focusing on are:
--Disaster relief for children affected by the earthquake in Nepal
--Ending child marriage (1 in 3 girls in the developing world will be married before they are 18)
--Ending female genital mutilation (FGM)
--Ending violence against girls
Their "Because I am a girl" campaign aims to help girls in the developing world have a life free from violence and to give them the education, support and skills to be a force for change within their community.Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
