Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·
Hello, thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was lucky enough to win a place in the London Marathon 2015 ballot. To take part in the 26.2 mile race has always been a lifelong ambition of mine. In the last few years I have become more interested in running, taking part in 5km, 10km and ran my first half marathon in October 2014. However this will definitely be my toughest challenge of all running my first marathon!
Getting the ballot place meant that I could choose who I would like to run and raise money for. I am thrilled to be running for Team Diabetes UK.
My choice of charity was a easy decision as it has become a charity very close to mine and my family's hearts. I will be running in memory of my Uncle Neil who passed away suddenly last April from a heart attack at the age of 53, with the underline cause of Diabetes which that he had suffered with since his early twenties.
Training is now well underway and I definitely have some tough months ahead of me, but have set myself a target time of sub 4 hours 30 minutes. The race itself will be taking place a year to the day of my Uncles passing, which will make it extra emotional.
I would be so grateful for any donations towards this very worthy cause and help me to reach my goal of raising £1,000 for Diabetes UK.
Many thanks for your support.
Jess. X
