London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
I've lived with anorexia nervosa since I was a teen, and I've had issues around food and body image since as long as I can remember. In 2010, I became so ill that I had to spend 4 months as an inpatient in an eating disorders unit. It was and will always be the hardest time of my life, but I'm so thankful for it 🙏🏻.
After a few years of ups and downs I'm finally in a really good place, and so decided it might be time to share my story - and so I applied for the London Marathon 💁🏼♀️.
While fundraising for the marathon (obvs will fundraise afterwards too) I want to raise awareness of eating disorders and their dangers, and hopefully help some of those that are suffering too 💕. So I've set up a website www.jessbeats.com with a blog to share my journey and my past. I'd like to reach as many people as possible, to help and to give an insight on what living with an eating disorder is actually like. If me sharing my story helps even one person then it's worth it 💜.
I'd appreciate it so much if you could head over to my blog and read my first post. I'd appreciate it even more if you could donate to my marathon fund on this Just Giving page 😊! Even the smallest amount can make a difference. Eating disorders are a massive killer, and many become seriously ill or pass away because they cannot get treatment soon enough. Beat are striving to solve this, as well as being there to give help and advice to sufferers and their families. Please donate whatever you can 💜💕
