Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to attempt to climb Kilimanjaro in September 2018 to raise as much money as possible for Cancer research. I have lost an aunt and an uncle to cancer, have several family members who are either currently battling or have beaten it and numerous friends whose lives have been affected by this disease. I’m planning to pay for the majority of this trip myself so as much money as possible will go to Cancer research.
For those who know me well will realise that I currently struggle to climb a few flights of stairs never mind a huge mountain! If I can't park at the door of Asda the shopping will have to wait! So the training and weight loss will be as big a challenge as the climb itself. As will the high altitude which may affect my ability to talk continually.....
I also don’t like camping! I won’t even camp at festivals and stay in a cottage so I can have my daily hot shower. So you can imagine how hard I’m going to find 8 days camping, no showers, bucket toilet and up to -10C cold! A definite tough challenge for me.
