P Company Challenge · 13 September 2009

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 13th September 2009 I took part in the Parachute Regiment ‘P’ Company Challenge (http://www.paras10.com/pcoychallenge.php) in order to raise funds for Aspire. The race is run over the same 10 mile multi-terrain course as that used for the final Airborne Forces qualification test in the North Yorkshire Moors, and under similar conditions: a 16kg bergen and boots are worn. Of a field totalling some 2500 runners I came 20th in 1 hour 27 minutes!

Spinal Cord Injury has a devastating effect on the 1,200 people who become paralysed each year. The spinal injuries charity Aspire's projects and services have a very simple goal - to provide the support needed to take those who use them from injury to independence.

The remit of the charity is huge. Practical aid ranges from specialist advice and support to provision of essential equipment. Funding also supports a broad spectrum of Disability Sciences and Rehabilitation research.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
