The walk is done. Charlie and I covered the sixty miles in two days as part of the Race To The Stones event. It was blisteringly hot, in more ways that one, but the great support shown by those who have donated kept us going; the finishing line near Avebury Stones was a welcome sight on Sunday late afternoon. All funds collected up to this point will go a charity supporting research into pancreatic cancer. Our great friend Guy Wilkes would have loved to be with us, keeping us entertained and smiling as we trudged on - we thought of him as we sweated along the Ridgeway. If he had been with us I am sure that our drinks bottles would have been filled with a rich Aussie red.... one year on and he is still sorely missed by so many.
