Story

Dear Family and Friends

I am going to be running the Bath Half in March to raise money for the Little Princess Trust. As many of you know my running journey started years ago with the infamous line ' I don't think Agent provocateur make sports bras'...well many kms and many ups and downs ( especially up and down those blasted hills around home) later I am finally upping my running game to tackle a longer race.

For those of you who don' know, the Little Princess Trust is a charity that started local to me in Herefordshire .The  charity was set up as a legacy to Hannah Tarplee who was diagnosed with a Wilms tumour in 2004, who lost her beautiful hair during treatment. Her parents, Wendy and Simon struggled to find a suitable and realistic wig for Hannah, but when they did, it had a massive effect on her confidence. Sadly Hannah passed away in 2005, but the charity is a legacy to her and designed to help others who have also experienced the same trauma.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young adults up to the age of 24, who have lost their hair to cancer and other hair loss conditions. What the charity is able to do is incredibly special, waving a magic wand at a particularly difficult time for a family, and make a real difference to their life.

As a parent of a seriously ill child, I know that parents cope with the big stuff, the bad news, the gruelling treatments, the endless trips to hospital, the fear , but it is often the little things such as your child losing their hair that are the hardest to bear. I am so grateful for all the people who have done little things to support me and my family over the last year, and I hope that you can support me in this challenge, hopefully providing a little help to other families.
