Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2016 · 29 May 2016 ·

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

On the 30th of April 2016 I lost my wonderful best friend and boyfriend, Ajvir Sandhu. He was killed in a light aircraft accident along with his friend and colleague Cam Forster.

Aj was training to be a fast jet pilot in the RAF and had a bright future ahead of him.

Over the last year and a half the RAF has become a second family to me and have shown me overwhelming support. I'm raising money for the Benevolent Fund to give support to other families affected by the loss of a loved one.

When I first told Aj I was planning to do the marathon he said, "Oh no, you'll make me look fat!" and tried to teach me how to lift weights instead to improve my G tolerance. He was planning on coming up to Edinburgh to support me (even missing a very close friend's Wings Graduation!) and I know he would be very proud of me finishing this.

Any support (donations or cheering me on) would be hugely appreciated.

For my boi.

Per Ardua ad Astra.
