Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 24th February 2008 I went into labour and my husband Adam and I drove to St George's Hospital in Tooting, very excited about the imminent arrival of our first baby. Sadly things did not go to plan and we were told that there was no heartbeat and our baby had died. Labour progressed and our daughter Sian was stillborn the following morning, weighing 7lbs 4oz - and she was perfect.
Later that day we went home without our baby.
The midwives were amazing, as was the support we received afterwards. We received counselling from the specialist bereavement midwives and the hospital even arranged Sian's funeral for us, so we were spared this added heartache.
All of this was totally free of charge, as it was taken care of by the St George's Hospital Charity. Sian would have been nine years old this year and as we enter our tenth year without her, I really wanted to do something to honour her memory and show our gratitude to the wonderful team of professionals who helped us and many other families whose little ones didn't make it.
Please, please help me to smash my target of £2500.00!
Thank you,
Joanna
