Climbing Kilimanjaro · 30 September 2019

Pilgrims Hospices is a charity providing palliative care, free of charge, to people in east Kent. For people with a range of life-limiting illnesses, specialist services are provided from our three hospices in Canterbury, Ashford and Thanet, in patients' homes and via community programmes.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Martin wanted to do something memorable for his 60th Birthday so, on the 30th September 2019 he will be flying out with his son, Charlie, to climb mt. Kilimanjaro, in Tanzania.

They will be financing the trip themselves and felt it was a great opportunity to raise money for their local hospice.

They will be taking the Machame Route which will take them to the summit at 5,895 meters, over the course of 6 days. At the beginning of the climb, the average temperature will be 24C, and at the summit the temperature can drop to -29C.

As they are financing this trip themselves, you can be assured that every penny raised will go straight to the Pilgrims Hospice.

Thank you in advance,

Martin and Charlie x
