Virgin London Marathon 2012 · 22 April 2012 ·

Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you generously sponsored me in February 2011 when I completed the Watford Half Marathon and raised £841.00 for PCRF and I am hoping you will sponsor me again for an even bigger challenge.........

I must be mad but am now attempting to run double the distance (unlike Dad I am not a natural runner).   I applied to PCRF for a place in the London Marathon 2012 and out of lots of applications I was lucky enough to be given a place and my training has now commenced!

Pancreatic Cancer is a relatively unheard of cancer but is particularly agressive.   In October 2005 Dad died from the illness within 8 weeks of diagnosis and until this time was a pretty fit man.     The PCRF concentrates on raising money to fund research into the illness to hopefully help earlier diagnosis and maybe one day a cure.

To help keep my legs moving through what will be a long and hard 26.2 miles, I am hoping that you will be able to sponsor me, and raise some money in memory of Dad.

As before Meg is being a top dog and helping to pull me along on my training runs!

Many thanks

Joanne
