Story

Hello!

Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page! In October, we will be running 10 miles in the Great South Run to raise much-needed funds for the Addisons Disease Self Help Group Charity (ADSHG).

The ADSHG supports people affected by adrenal insufficiency, steroid dependency and Addisons Disease. Those with Addisons disease need need to take steroid medication every day to stay healthy. Medication is usually taken several times daily at carefully timed intervals and individuals must also know how to administer an emergency hydrocortisone injection to prevent a potentially fatal adrenal crisis.

As a sufferer of Adrenal Insufficiency (Jodi) and a sister who has had to deal with potentially life-threatening Adrenal Crisis (Brooke), we are so grateful to the support and materials that ADSHG provide! We are running to help ensure that the ADSHG are able to keep assisting people affected by Addison's disease and adrenal insufficiency.

The ADSHG supports the Addison’s and adrenal insufficiency community and their healthcare providers to promote better medical understanding of this rare condition, campaign for and support everyone affected by adrenal failure, and fund vital research.

We would really appreciate it if could sponsor us.
