Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Story

As a carer I have been lucky enough to spend lots of time with a lady, that I grew very fond of. She had lived with Rett Syndrome and was profoundly disabled. We spent a lot time together, and we were friends.

Two years ago I started to run, well I think I can now claim that I run... So when I started looking at entering races and that I could raise a few pennies along the way for the charity that helped people living with Rett like my friend, there was no question about it!

My friend, although not being in great health unexpectedly passed away at the start of November.... The night I heard this sad news I contacted Rett UK to see if I could run the London Marathon for them.... To run for Alison, to raise awareness of the condition she lived with, to raise vital funds for the charity and ultimately to celebrate my friends life.

So if you can, no matter how small please support me.

Thank you xx
