Two years ago Jodie was diagnosed with an aggressive bowel cancer that, in spite of surgery and chemotherapy, spread to her brain.  Jodie underwent further surgery, radio surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy across the past 12 months, though her inspirational and brave attitude toward both the illness and the treatment could not prevent the tumour from causing a progressive and debilitating illness.  Sadly, this meant that Jodie spent the last week of her life in St Luke’s hospice, who ensured that her final days were pain free and comfortable, and also offered a huge amount of support and comfort to myself, Harry, Elijah, and Jodie’s mum, dad, brothers and wider family.
