Joe Adkins is raising money for The Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation
Story
Here is why i want to help
At just 3 years old Oakley was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma when a tumour was found in his pelvis. After an operation, chemotherapy and radiotherapy he was in remission. Ho...wever, the tumour returned and was inoperable. As he loved Haven holidays for his last months he told his parents Lorraine and Dave Waterman -former Portsmouth FC defender, that this is how he would like to spend his time. While on holiday he turned to his mum and said he wanted to help other children with life threatening illnesses enjoy time with their family and asked if they could buy a caravan and start up a charity to offer free caravan holidays to children in a situation like his own. Thanks to a lovely family they'd met at the caravan park who had heard Oaks request surprised them by putting down the money and bought a caravan to make this little boys wish come true.
Sadly Oakley passed away but to keep his wish alive we need help from YOU!!
The caravan at Haven park Church farm in Chichester and Devon Cliffs annual upkeep is 20k! The more we raise the more caravans we can purchase at other parks around the country. Helping more children and families smile at such a sad time.
