The 3 Peaks Challenge UK · 22 September 2018

Here at Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and together with people who have experienced mental health problems, we provide quality services and support that reduce stigma and promote positive mental health.

Story

The National 3 Peaks Challenge UK (24 Hours)

Myself and Andy will aim to complete the National 3 Peaks challenge within 24 hours, starting around 11am on Saturday 22nd September, through the night and finishing around 11am Sunday 23rd (hopefully!)

The challenge involves climbing the highest mountain in England (Scafell pike), Scotland (Ben Nevis) and Wales (Mount Snowdon). This is a total of 26 miles walking distance, 10'052 ft ascent and 462 miles driving in between. We aim to complete the climbs in 12.5 hours total and 11 hours driving in between (Chauffeured by Tom Goudie).

We have chosen to raise money and awareness for the Mental Health Charity MIND UK (Coventry and Warwickshire branch). MIND UK offer personal support, advice and information via wellbeing sessions, support groups and a 24/7 support line to reassure people suffering with mental health problems that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

1 in 4 people suffer from mental health at some point in their lives; MIND UK do all they can to remind you it's Ok not to be Ok and will help you every step of the way.
