At Princess Alice Hospice, we provide exceptional end of life care in our hospice and in the community. We know we can’t prevent death, but we do whatever we possibly can to make it the best it possibly can be. But, above all, we believe that hospice care is for living.

Story

My dear Dad, David, died on 24th March 2014 in the Princess Alice Hospice following a relatively short fight against cancer. Sadly my lovely Mum, Mary, didn't last long without him, dying peacefully of a brain haemorrhage less than two months later. The PAH is a wonderful, calm place where Dad could relax. The caring staff looked after all of us during his last weeks, particularly Mum, and the bereavement team has continued to help me deal with losing them both too soon.  My Dad and I ran lots of races together, and we had many happy family holidays in Ireland, usually in West Cork where Mum's side is from, so this seems like the perfect way to raise some money for a very good cause in celebration of my much missed Mum & Dad.
