Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

So now I've retired and have so much time on my hands(!), I was talked into doing this challenge for our Godson Luke.

Luke was born with congenital heart disease and needed open heart surgery at only five days old, which was to save his life. Luke is now 9 and has ongoing check ups at the Evelina with a view to needing further surgery in his teenage years.

It is the Evelina Children”s Hospitals 150th birthday this year, so Luke has decided to raise 15k for the charity/hospital.  He asked me for some help with his efforts, and if I would be able to take this challenge on his behalf. (Well actually he asked Liz, and she said that no matter how much she loves him, if she tried doing it she would likely end up in the Hospital with heart problems of her own!) Liz will be shouting encouragement whilst on terra firma!

Challenge details...

Grab your harness and abseil 160ft down the front of St Thomas’ Hospital where you will have once in a life time views of Big Ben, the House of Parliment, The London Eye and the crystal clear waters of the River Thames!

Level of abseil - moderate to hard

Any support you can give to myself and Luke in raising funds for Evelina would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou in advance for any sponsorship.

John.
