Story
I'm running the Las Vegas Half Marathon on 15th November to raise money for the Cornelia de Lange Syndrome Foundation. CdLS is a very rare genetic disorder which delays and limits child development.
CdLS is very unusual - most people have never heard of it - and its rarity means that it is far less well understood than more common genetic disorders. The CdLS Foundation provides information and support to families affected by CdLS and promotes vital medical research into the condition. The CdLS foundation is run entirely by volunteers, and because it is a very small charity which doesn't have the same high profile as many larger charities, even small donations make a big difference.
I have never taken part in any kind of organised race, and I'm not exactly Mo Farah, so running a half marathon is a pretty big challenge for me! I am very grateful for all support you can give to such a wonderful cause.
You will have noticed that this event is taking place in Las Vegas - rest assured that I'm funding the trip myself and that every penny you give will go to the charity rather than to the casino!
