I'm running 20km on 18th May as part of a team raising funds for 'The Giraffe Project'. No: not the long-necked African ruminant, but a charity (UK-registered) providing education for children from the slums of Nairobi - many of whom would otherwise be on the streets. We sponsor almost 500 children in two primary schools located in the Kibera and Muthare slums and then support them through secondary schools, including our own boarding school, The Giraffe Education Centre, located 30min outside Nairobi.

Our aim is to equip students for productive citizenship, which means supporting them through college (academic or vocational) and on, we hope, into employment. You can find out more at www.giraffeproject.org

All this costs money, so our fundraising is a non-stop activity (a bit like my running!). So if you are able, please sponsor me for the Brussels 20km. My target is 1h 55mins - which would be a record. Why not give me an incentive by, for example, sponsoring me for a bit extra for every minute I manage to get under this time?
