Hackney Half Marathon 2023 · 21 May 2023 ·

We work to meet the needs of people and their families living with and affected by end-stage kidney disease, on dialysis and post-transplant. From valuable donations and fundraisers we can provide services such as counselling, financial aid, the use of a patient support centre and patient holidays.

Story

In order to raise funds for the Irish Kidney Association, we'll be running in the Hackney Half Marathon in London this May.

We've all been training hard and are excited to take on this challenge for such a worthy cause - The Irish Kidney Association. We're asking for your support in helping us reach our fundraising goal. Any amount you can give, even if it's £1 will make a difference in the lives of those impacted by kidney disease

This is a charity close to my heart as last year my father Howard Slattery was diagnosed with kidney disease and informed that he must receive a kidney transplant, being placed on the organ donors list.

Without hesitation my legend of a sister, Laura Sargeant put herself forward to donate her kidney and is in the process of testing to be a match for the transplant with all test results being positive so far.

Throughout this whole experience, I witnessed firsthand the power of family and the importance of being an organ donor. I encourage everyone to consider being an organ donor and potentially saving someone's life, just like my sister will do for our dad. The impact of such a selfless act is immeasurable and can truly make all the difference in the world for someone in need.

The Irish Kidney Association provides support for those with kidney disease in Ireland, as well as promoting organ donation and transplantation. Their work is vital in improving the lives of those affected by kidney disease, and we're proud to be supporting their efforts.

Thank you for your support!
