Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page of John Waite and Chris Illingworth.
We have come up with the terrible idea of cycling from Leeds to Lands End; a journey of 412 miles! We will be setting off on 31/07/2010 and cycling about 70 miles per day for 6 days. This idea was inspired by my great uncle George who would cycle from Manchester to Cornwall to meet us on family holidays and did this long after he had started collecting his pension!
We will be raising money for Tommy's, a childrens charity that funds research into the causes of miscarriage and stillbirth.
My friend Lee Butler and his fiance Natalie Shaw lost their 1st child "Alfie George" at 39 weeks on 13 May 2009. They have been raising money for Tommy's with Lee running a couple of half marathons and recently the Edinburgh marathon. Me and Chris are pround to try and raise money for such a good cause.
Any contribution you can make will be much appreciated.
There is now a group on facebook where we will be uploading photos and keeping everyone up to date on our progress when we set off.
