Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running for Hull Children's University - I am looking to raise £600 which will allow 30 Children to have a learning experience.

If you have a spare couple of quid, I am going for my personal best time by completing the course in under 50 minutes which would be awesome for someone of my mature years!

Hull Children’s University annually works with around 1785 young people and we help to provide learning experiences for students outside the classroom and or outside their community to broaden their perspective on life. Such experiences will include tuition at local leisure facilities, learning opportunities in local companies and sharing learning with senior citizens. The Toolkit also focuses upon mental and brain development with experiences on the farm and healthy lifestyle as well as introducing government and politics to young people.

 

During the last year we have been limited by the number of children we have been able to work with due to public sector funding cuts to many schools. We would like to provide a free service to the schools. Our Toolkit helps to develop the young people to see the benefits of learning and build up confidence in their own ability and this increases their desire to learn and become a contributing member of society.

 

Hull Children’s University’s philosophy is influenced by research on Emotional intelligence which promotes respect, friendship, trust, empathy, teamwork, honesty and HOPE. All the learning experiences mentioned are underpinned by these values so interpersonal communication and socialisation is bonding communities and offering safer, more healthy, enjoyable and fun places in which to live. Reducing theft, violence, crime, racism, alcohol and drug abuse.
