As you know, I lost my best friend and music colleague in 2015 to Cancer. Bryn Merrick and I were friends for over 40 years and played music together in many bands. The treatment Bryn received from our local NHS hospital and hospice and the time given to him by the people who cared for him throughout his illness was second to none. I want to give something to those people, to enable them to continue to look after cancer patients. I think the idea of boxing to raise money for charity would appeal to Bryn. I'm sure he'd love to see me go a few rounds and take a few hits so I've decided to fight on an Ultra White Collar Boxing event in July. I'll train for 8 weeks then fight 3 x 2 minute rounds against my opponent.
