Story
Marathon finished! 7hrs 20mins 30sec. Not bad for a hobbler! Was a bit sore but at least foot didn't fall off. Thanks to everyone who sponsored me and (although they won't read this) thanks to the supporters on the streets who got me through it.

Had another X-ray yesterday. Seems Louise's homemade skelegrow potion (which tastes pretty similar to ordinary tea to me) doesn't seem to be working yet. However, I'm still up for attempting the marathon tomorrow. I'll be walking rather than running so I don't advise anyone comes to watch unless you like spending nine hours in the cold and rain. Thanks to all those who have supported me, and thanks also to those who think I'm a bloody fool! Probably right! J

Phew! Just finished the Portsmouth RNLI half marathon. Not a bad time. All of a sudden the marathon seems to be just round the corner....

Feb 12th: in a couple of hours, Louise and I are doing the Portsmouth Half-Marathon. Thermometer says minus one but I think the wind off the sea will make it even more Siberian!! Our entry money goes to the RNLI, which is obviously a great cause. But really this is training for the main event and if anyone is interested in supporting my fundraising for Age UK via my marathon page, I (and they) would be extremely grateful. Thanks very much indeed. Time to try and find some gloves and warm socks!! Johnny

Thanks very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am (sort of) looking forward to having a go at the London Marathon, and any spare pennies that you might be able to donate to Age UK would be very gratefully received. It is a great charity, doing a lot of good work for communities all over the country.
Many thanks,
Johnny
