Story

Nine months ago, the homeowner's husband at our (Johnson County staff) Dr. Doof worksite passed away, leaving her all alone with no family nearby. Upon visiting her home, she informed us that she was sick and that her mobility and ability to heal has quickly declined and that she has lost a lot of weight. The ramp she had been using is way too steep according to ADA standards and had no handrails. Because of this, she has fallen off the ramp multiple times and has sustained major injuries because of these falls. The only help she has comes from her service dog 'Mama Duke' who will pull her back into the house when she falls off the ramp and bright floodlights that she flashes when she needs help to call her neighbor who lives down the road. Due to the nature of her property, the ramp we want to put in is too expensive for supplies and materials budget because the ramp will have to be approximately 90 feet long. Any help we can get with funding this ramp would be greatly appreciated and no donation or share on social media is too small.
