Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have set up this page in memory of my beautiful grand daughter, Millie.

Millie was born at 11 mins past 1 on 11/01/11 at Russells Hall Hospital. Her twin sister, Maisie, was born a few minutes later.

Unfortunately Millie had breathing problems from birth and was immediately taken into the hospitals Neo Natal unit where she spent 11 days having tests and treatment, before being transfered to Intensive Care at Birmingham Childrens Hospital. Ward 11, bed 11 (see a pattern developing here?)

Millie had exhaustive tests over the next few days, but despite the fantastic efforts of the staff, there was nothing that could be done to make Millie well.

She was Baptised on the evening of the 25th February 2011 and passed away peacefully the same evening in the arms of her mother and father.

Though she was only with us a short time, Millie was an inspiration to us all. She fought every minute of every day of her short life. She made us all look at ourselves and realise how lucky we were to have good health and the love and support of the people around us, and to see what was actualy important in life.

My other beautiful grand daughter, Maisie, is thriving and managing to keep all our spirits up. I'm sure she will continue to do this for some years to come.

Myself and other family members will be undertaking the Birmingham Walkathon on May 8th to raise funds for Birmingham Childrens Hospital.

Times are difficult at the moment I know, but please donate what you can in support of this charity, whether it be 10p or £10 every penny will help. BCH, as most hospitals, do a fantastic job with very limited resources anything extra that we can give them will only assist their cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thankyou.
